Digitalisation, indispensable for Chemnitz 2025!


The Covid pandemic has shown us that digitalisation is indispensable. The rapid acceleration of the adoption of digital practices has highlighted how digital must be considered a core part of our work, lives and experiences. This is no different for the European Capitals of Culture.

When writing its final Bid Book to become an ECOC in 2025, the delivery team of Chemnitz put on the top of its capacity-building wish list the concept of “digitalisation”.

Why? Because it is fundamental to bridge the gap between information and experience and to rely on collaborative design approaches from the very beginning.

The second Academy Camp was dedicated to the theme of digital approaches in ECoCs with Chemnitz 2025, covering five themes and drawing on the expertise of 15 experts. Nicole McNeilly and Anne Kurzweg, lead trainers, now share the main learnings.
